The works comprise of the eradication of the invasive Rhododendron ponticum (hereafter referred to as Rhododendron) and self-seeded non-native conifers from a 10ha plot, referenced as Plot Cappyvaughna_10ha, within Glengarriff Nature Reserve (See maps in Appendix 5). There is a strip of Rhododendron along the south-east boundary which is partially on private land and will form part of the tender. The mature conifers within this plot are proposed to be removed under a Native Woodland Scheme application but this does not form part of this tender (2025). Rhododendron occurs in various densities within this area.
