- In summary, the Services comprise: Undertake a review of Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and Remote Sensing within the Heritage Division of the Department of Housing Local Government and Heritage. This Heritage GIS and Remote Sensing review will consider current and future GIS and Remote Sensing technology demands within each of the three sections, and the wider Department. It will also consider interdependencies with key external stakeholders including other Departments and public sector bodies including the Office of the Planning Regulator (OPR), Heritage Council, Discovery Programme, the National Biodiversity Data Centre and others. The review will document key business plan objectives that require GIS and Remote Sensing support and propose recommendations on appropriate transformation within the context of wider digital transformation agenda, legal obligations and policies. The review will include an inventory of the current people, processes, data, tools and make recommendations on the future direction for GIS and Remote Sensing services at section and Division level and propose a costed road map for the delivery of the recommendations.
