The National Transport Authority (the Authority) is a statutory non-commercial body with, inter alia, a primary statutory function to fund and oversee Public Service Obligation (PSO) public transport, ensuring that vital bus and rail services are available to communities in all parts of the country under the Transport for Ireland brand.
Over the next number of years the Authority intends to conduct a number of tender competitions for the provision of new and existing bus services. To conduct these tender competitions it is intended to introduce a revised procurement process to simplify the process for selecting a preferred tenderer.
The Authority intends to conduct a market briefing to inform potential tenderers of the process relating to the upcoming tender competitions to be published by the Authority. The market briefing is likely to be of interest to any operator currently providing public transport bus services in Ireland or who is considering entering the market.
This market briefing will provide potential tenderers with more information on the tendering process.
The market briefing will be conducted virtually and interest parties should declare their interest in attending to procurement@nationaltransport.ie before 12 noon on the 5th of June, 2023. The market briefing will be conducted virtually on Monday the 12th June 2023 from 10:30 until 11:30. Further details including a link to attend virtually will be issued prior to the event to registered interested parties.
