- Zanna Cookhouse Ltd invites tenders for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a semi-automatic cartoning machine for use in a food manufacturing and packing environment. Award of this contract is subject to the approval of LEADER grant aid funding. The purchasing organisation reserves the right not to proceed with the contract where such funding is not approved. Timeline Should LEADER Grant Aid be approved, the successful supplier will be notified by November 2026. The equipment must be delivered, installed and commissioned within [insert] weeks of the date on which the successful tenderer receives written confirmation to proceed. Specification 1. Requirement and intended use The equipment will be used to erect and/or assist in forming pre-glued cardboard cartons, facilitate the loading of packaged food products into the cartons, and close and seal the cartons for onward packing and distribution. The proposed solution should be suitable for operation within a food production facility and should provide a reliable, efficient and flexible method of packing a range of product and carton sizes. 2. Technical requirements Tenderers should provide full technical details of the proposed equipment, including: • machine dimensions • utilities required • achievable throughput • carton size range • changeover procedure and estimated changeover time. Minimum requirements which must be met: 1 Products to be packed Packaged food products (general reference only). Should you reference some of the products that will be mostly packed on the machine? 2 Machine function Semi-automatic carton erecting/forming and closing equipment, with adjustable guides and settings; closure by hot-melt adhesive, tuck closure or other suitable method depending on carton design. 3 Product dimensions, packaging format and carton requirements Equipment should accommodate a range of carton dimensions, with easy and rapid changeover between sizes. Tenderers should also identify any limitations regarding carton styles, board grades, product dimensions or operating speeds. 4 Throughput Tenderers should state the achievable throughput of quoted machinery. Do you need to state a minimum per hour/day? 5 Changeover Easy and rapid changeover between carton sizes; Tenderers should state changeover time. Easy and rapid is a bit vague. Should tenderers describe the changeover procedure. 6 Electrical Electrical and control systems suitable for operation in Ireland. 7 Construction and hygiene The machine must be constructed from stainless steel or other materials suitable for a food production environment. 8 Safety Suitable machine guarding and safety systems compliant with applicable EU machinery and workplace safety requirements. 9 Machine footprint Should you specify available footprint? 10 Line integration Will the machine be operating standalone or are there any issues around integration? 3. Scope of supply The scope of supply should include, as appropriate: 1 Cartoning machine and associated equipment 2 Delivery and unloading of the equipment at Zanna Cookhouse premises, in Wexford. 3 Positioning, installation and commissioning of equipment. 4 How will the equipment be tested and confirmed as meeting requirements? 5 Operator and maintenance training 6 Operating, maintenance and spare-parts manuals and relevant technical documentation. 7 Recommended spare parts package, to be costed separately from the machine price. 8 Warranty Should you specify whether a minimum warranty period is required? 9 After-sale technical support AWARD CRITERIA Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT)
