- SMARTPLY Europe DAC is seeking suitably qualified engineering companies to modify and install an upgraded Air Extraction Duct system in the Coating Line and T+G (Tongue + Groove) area of the plant at our site in Belview Port, Slieverue, via Waterford (X91 PX75). This system is required to improve airflow in the ducts and provide separate Bag House connections for each production line. All ducting and final detailed drawings will be supplied by Scheuch GmbH (Free Issue to the Contractor). The Contractor is responsible for all installation, bracketry, lifting, safety documentation, and associated works as detailed below. It is envisaged that the works will take place during SmartPly’s Annual Shutdown: 24th August – 4th September 2026, with pre-shutdown works permitted in the weeks prior. Due to the nature of works as set out in this tender and other maintenance + construction activity being carried out on site, these have been deemed to be "CONSTRUCTION WORK" as per the HSA's Safety, Health and Welfare at Work (Construction) Regulations 2013. The successful Bidder will operate as "CONTRACTOR" and will be required to provide site-specific Risk Assessments, Method Statements, Training + Induction Records, Plant Certification, Lift Plans, and other requested information associated with the works. Contact: Ciaran Brennan – 051 831 48 PSCS Successful Bidder Detailed Scope of Works The Contractor shall provide all labour, plant, lifting equipment, access platforms, bracketry, fixings and safety documentation necessary to complete the following works: Ducting Installation + Modification (Based on Drawing AT-03570328a) • Install and modify ducting as per Scheuch GmbH drawings (green = existing, black = new). • Remove existing ducting (Ø630mm) running from the Coating Line to Bag House 01 (BH01). • Replace with new reduced-size ducting (Ø400mm) running from the T+G Line to BH01. • Install new ducting (Ø630mm) running from the Coating Line to Bag House 04 (BH04), connecting into existing ducting (Ø710mm). • Remove the ducting line fitted under the existing Ø710mm line and blank off the opening. • Install new ducting of various diameters from the Splitter Saw to BH01, connecting into the lower extraction from the two Tenor machines and the QC Saw. Removal of Existing Ducting • Removal of existing ducting. Note: This shall be recorded in the RAMS for prior approval. Lifting Equipment + Access Platforms • The Contractor is responsible for all plant, lifting equipment, and access platforms (temporary, mobile, or fixed) required to carry out the works at heights of up to 19m above ground level. Start-Up Support + Commissioning • Provide start-up support. • Offer technical support for commissioning team. Handover Documentation The Contractor shall provide: • Site-specific Risk Assessments + Method Statements (RAMS) – to be issued 21 days prior to shutdown work commencing. • Lift plans and associated safety documentation. • Training + Induction Records. • Plant Certification. • As-installed documentation (if any variation from Scheuch drawings). Health + Safety Compliance The Contractor is responsible for all EHS requirements associated with the works, including but not limited to: • Complying with site rules and the safety + health plan. • Identifying hazards and eliminating or reducing risks. • Providing site-specific induction for all workers. • Appointing a safety officer where more than 20 persons are on site. • Reporting accidents to the Authority and to the PSCS where an employee cannot perform normal work for more than three days. All works must comply with: • Safety, Health and Welfare at Work Act 2005 • General Application Regulations 2007 • Construction Regulations 2013
