- Description:
- BIM wishes to invite tenders for the supply of blood-based fish health assessment to support the Irish finfish aquaculture industry and associated service industries through the generation of fish health data and the provision of health-based insights. As the project envisages generating a significant amount of data, a non-lethal, blood-based method will be required to generate this fish data. This sample analysis should include a focus on gill, liver, and pancreas function. A strong focus of this project shall be on the integration and manipulation of this health data with other data from various sources to support production decision making in aquaculture and its supporting industries. Strong communication with stakeholders will be required to maximise the benefit to the industry. The primary purpose of this tender is: 1. The generation of significant amounts of fish health data from various environments over a compete growth cycle to understand temporal trends in fish health and the impact of various stressors (e.g. water quality) on the fish. 2. To develop an early warning system for the farmers to identify the early impact of a stressor to enable time for the appropriate remedial actions to take place to help reduce the impact on fish health 3. To assess the impact of remedial actions taken in response to a stressor (e.g. functional feed or other mitigation measure. 4. To facilitate the integration of various types of data related to finfish aquaculture to investigate the relationship between fish health, environment and production parameters. 5. Data should be presented to customers in an easy to digest format with the use of some form of digital platform. 6.
