- EirGrid plc
- Title:
- ENQEIR979 – DS3 System Services Qualification Trial Process 2025
- CfT CA Unique ID:
- Evaluation Mechanism:
- Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT)
- Description:
- The Qualification Trial Process (QTP) is a key activity under the Operations pillar of EirGrid and SONI’s Shaping Our Electricity Future Roadmap. The process contributes to the transition of the power system from fossil fuels to renewable energy. The QTP acts as a platform to trial system services from new technology providers and identify the operational complexities to the provision of services from a range of providers. It originally started under the DS3 System Services Regulated Arrangements and has helped to support new technologies to qualify for system services and subsequently provide these services at scale. The Qualification Trial Process 2025 will facilitate the real-time trials of both new and existing technologies for relevant System Service provision on the Ireland and Northern Ireland power system. This will help to identify and to resolve any issues associated with operational protocols, technology capability and communication challenges. More generally, the trials will also consider the challenges associated with the large-scale roll-out of these new/unproven technologies. The trials will be designed to be bespoke with a focus on innovative technologies and strategies. The budget is €400K, please see RFP for full details. This procurement competition is being advertised on two tendering platforms (eTenders.gov.ie and mytenders.co.uk). Please note that this is a single procurement process. The contracting authority reserves the right to award the contract to a maximum of two suppliers. If more than one supplier is appointed, they will share the total available budget as outlined in the tender documents. Successful suppliers may be selected from one platform, both platforms, or either platform.
