Description:
Invitation to tender for the Provision of a Fluorescent in situ Hybrisisation (FISH) Microscope and a Cytogenetic Image Analysis and Management System (end to end solution) for the Histopathology Dept at St James’s Hospital. The FISH service at SJH has expanded exponentially in recent years and the the laboratory now requires an additional FISH microscope with an associated Cytogenetic Image Management System. The provider must be able to provide and end to end solution. The Histopathology Department at SJH requires a complete, end-to-end manual/semi-automated FISH microscopy and cytogenetic image management solution for solid-tumour FISH analysis. The system will be used exclusively for the manual screening and interpretation of processed patient tissue sections, including a broad repertoire of lymphoma, sarcoma and breast FISH probes. These assays include break-apart, fusion, amplification, and gain/loss probe strategies. The solution must include: • A manual clinical grade fluorescent microscope suitable for routine, high-quality FISH examination of FFPE tumour tissue, equipped with all necessary optics, filters, and accessories to support the full range of probes and fluorophores used in clinical solid-tumour FISH. • A cytogenetic image management system (IMS) that supports assisted manual scoring, image capture, organisation, annotation, and reporting for FISH cases. The IMS must facilitate efficient workflow for tissue-based FISH, including the ability to organise cases, assist in visual signal enumeration, generate reports, and store captured images with appropriate metadata. • Seamless interaction between microscope and software such that the user manually screens slides and optionally captures images for documentation, second opinion, or audit. Automated interpretation is not required, but the system must provide tools that assist in manual enumeration and documentation where appropriate. • All necessary hardware, software, licences, accessories, installation, training, and support required for a fully functional clinical workflow. • Compliance with relevant medical device, quality, and data protection requirements applicable in Ireland and the EU. Vendors must supply a fully integrated solution that supports reliable and reproducible manual/semi-automated FISH screening across all probe types used by SJH Histopathology, provides a streamlined case management and reporting workflow, and ensures long-term serviceability, data security, and user training.
