- CORU wish to engage the services of a supplier to review how other equivalent regulators manage appeals of regulatory decision by applicants, and make recommendations to the Professional Practice Advisory Committee on changes to the Appeals Procedures to improve the process and allow flexibility to allow management of up to 100 appeals per year. The service provider will be required to; 1. Review the regulatory appeals process of 6 to 8 other professional regulators (national and international). 2. Identify how other regulators operationally manage the appeals process, in particular in relation to appeal committee members ship, format and structure of appeals committee meetings and information provided back to the original decision maker. 3. Provide a report on the above research to the Professional Practice Advisory Committee. 4. Based on the above report, provide a second document which identifies potential changes to the CORU Appeals Procedures which could improve operational effectiveness of the process, and rationale for same which also meet the requirements of the Health and Social Care Professionals Act 2005 (as amended).
