Name of Contracting Authority:
Medite Europe DAC
Title:
Supply of New Air Compressors and New Blowers for WWTP at Medite Europe DAC '25
CfT CA Unique ID:
Medite2025#1
Evaluation Mechanism:
Most Economically Advantageous Tender (MEAT)
Description:
MEDITE Europe DAC requires the supply and equipment commissioning of New Air-Cooled Compressors (2 no.) and New Blowers in WWTP (2 no.). Please note NO installation will be required and the decommissioning and the removal of the existing compressors and blowers will be undertaken by Medite Europe DAC. Background The plant is in operation for 24 hours per day, 7 days per week and 50 weeks per year. A reliable supply of compressed air is absolutely essential to our processes. Also, a reliable supply of air via blowers is absolutely essential to the biological life in WWTP plant. A recent evaluation by our Energy Partner EM3 of our existing compressors and blowers in WWTP - has highlighted based on high run hours greater than 100,000 hours that four key assets are now recommended for replacement at Medite. There are four compressors in main compressor room, Kaeser 1 VSD, Kaeser 2 FS, Kaeser 3 FS, Kaeser 4 FS in existing compressor room. Desired usage for four air cooled compressors is three in service (two fixed and variable speed controlling)/one fixed speed left off in standby mode. There are two existing blowers (of two no.) in WWTP also require to be replaced. Therefore, the following tender requirements to market in parallel is required as one overall supply package: 1) Supply of two new fixed speed air-cooled compressors (to replace two fixed speed air-cooled compressors no. 2 + no. 3 of the four no. existing Kaeser compressors). 2) Supply of two new screw blowers in WWTP area of plant to replace two existing blowers. The air demand (of the main system) at present has been measured as maximum capacity of 6,120 m3/hour of compressed air via three (fourth back-up) Kaeser screw compressors (Three duty/One Standby is desired working arrangement). Hence, two new fixed speed compressors must deliver at minimum 4,080 m3/hour to peak at 4,500 m3/hour at supply pressure of 7.4 bar(g) with a mean demand of 4,100 m3/hour as shown below in recent compressed air mapping study by EM3 for Medite: Requirements • Please provide proposals for two compressor units fixed speed at 7.5 bar(g). • These two machines will have fixed speed drive motors to meet the base load. •All machines must be CE compliant •The compressor packages with air cooled oil injected rotary screw units from the vendors standard product line and will include the following equipment: •Air end and drive arrangement •Inlet filter •Safety valves •Capacity controls for fixed speed units •Discharge check valve •Base plate with anti-vibration mountings •Oil cooler, filtration and separation system •After cooler with zero loss electronic condensate drain valve •Cooling fan and motor (if required) •High efficiency motors •Variable speed drive and controller for variable unit •Starter •Control panel with standard readouts and alarms and trips •All to be installed within an acoustic cabinet that has connections for ducting for inlet and exhaust air streams. •All condensate drains to be of the electronic zero loss type. Compressor Control • An electronic control system is to be supplied that will enable two compressor units to be controlled to ensure that the VSD unit on Kaeser No. 1 VSD is always used as control unit whatever the demand. The controller will provide close pressure control within 0.1bar irrespective of the demand. • The control system must be capable of interfacing with the factory BMS that will show the duty compressor situation and the power being consumed by the compressors. The power consumption will be data logged to enable electronic records to be kept. • All electrics to be to suit site 400v/3ph/50hz for main motors and 110v/1ph/50hz for control. • All performance criteria for flow and power consumption to be quoted in accordance with the CAGI/Pneurop PN2CPTC2 protocol. **** Please see tender document for full and complete scope of works.****
