- The Eastern and Midland Regional Assembly is seeking to appoint a suitably qualified and experienced consultancy service to create a socio-economic profile report of the Eastern and Midland Regional Area to inform and support the upcoming review of the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy. This specialist study will provide an evidence base for the revision of the Regional Spatial and Economic Strategy. The profile should be presented in a final report, and this report should include analysis and commentary on each indicator, including the relevance of the indicators to key themes of the RSES, for example, the relationship of the housing profile with compact growth, including any recommendations resulting from the analysis. The list of the following indicators should not be interpreted as an exhaustive list; • Demographic Profile Including information on total population, population distribution, population change, breakdown of age cohorts, gender etc. • Social Profile Including key facts, nationality, ethnicity, social indicators, etc. • Education Profile Including information on education attainment by category (primary, secondary, third level attainment), school progression and childcare costs. • Economic Profile Including key facts, labour force participation rates, labour at work, POWSCAR information, regional jobs profile including industry breakdown, foreign direct investment and state assisted job creation, LEO clients and jobs, business demography, unemployment, live register, household income, disposable income and a geographic profile of incomes. • Health and Disability Profile Information on health and disability regional population statistics, Heathy Ireland Framework 2022. • Housing Profile Including housing stock information, new dwellings completed, census vacancy rates, unoccupied housing stock (holiday homes), housing type and tenure, residential property prices, housing assistance payment profile, rent supplement, rental accommodation scheme details. • Environmental Profile Including Special Protection and Special Areas of Conservation, Natural Heritage Areas, CORINE Land Classification, wind farm generation, solar demand and PV Solar Farm generation, heat demand, new car registration, household waste generation. • Agricultural Profile Including median standard output, area farmed, census of agriculture, land utilisation (area farmed), number of agricultural holdings, average agricultural holding size (ha). • Commuting Patterns Including working from home trends, travel distances, modes of travel, etc. • Digital Connectivity Including information on broadband availability, speeds, telecommunications infrastructure.
