- Meath County Council is seeking to contract suitably qualified and experienced professionals to carry out an assessment and prepare a document which includes the following: 1. Identifies and maps the existing and permitted high capacity national electricity lines (220 and 400 KV) and gas transmission networks; a. Current capacity availability should also be indicated. 2. Identifies and maps the existing and permitted high capacity national electricity and gas grid access nodes; 3. Identifies and maps potential strategic onshore locations for enabling infrastructure to process and connect off-shore renewable energy to the national grid; 4. Identifies and maps strategic sites which could potentially provide for the co-location of low to zero carbon energy generation assets with high energy users; 5. Prioritise the sites identified under item no. 4 above in the order of strategic importance to the County and provide land-use recommendations together with suggested policy and objectives to be included in the Meath County Development Plan 2021-2027.
