- Description:
- The Air Corps currently relies primarily on a planning, maintenance and reporting tool knowns as AMMS (Aviation Maintenance Management System) that draws data from a variety of non-integrated systems from across IAC including, IKON (Microsoft SharePoint), MS Office, Google sheets and Outlook calendars. The Maintenance Repair and Overhaul operation is currently managed by an AMMS system, a product of PATHIX. The system manages all tasks relating to line and base maintenance for the fixed and rotary aircraft, it tracks all hours and cycles for the aircraft and manages all technical services relating to continuing airworthiness, including AD and SB management. The AMMS system also functions as an inventory management system with quarantine, aircraft and repair stores segregation and the system is integrated into organisation’s financial management system. The AMMS also offers limited flight management capabilities such as flight planning. This limited functionality has resulted in operational data being captured and stored in multiple systems that are disconnected. Personnel are required to record in several programs. This results in additional data management tasks and risk data integrity. Having multiple sources of data creates a requirement to have a data auditing process to ensure that all data sources are synchronised and balanced. The Minister of Defence wishes to move to a single authoritative and reconcilable source of operational and maintenance data compatible with the current Enterprise Applications.
