FunFly Aerosports Flying Club CLG is inviting tenders for the construction of 'The Offaly Aviation Training Centre' at Benfield Airfield, Benfield, Co. Offaly. This facility will be purpose-built for the storage of light aircraft and the delivery of aviation training and related educational activities. Detailed information, including plans, drawings, and a bill of quantities, is provided in the tender documents. The Club provides industry leading theoretical and practical flight training, encouraging members in the Aviation Community and the wider Community to learn and develop their skill sets, curtailing the obstacles that were once perceived with aviation, focusing on sustaining an affordable training environment, in which all individuals, of all ages and abilities are encouraged to learn. The Club is now seeking to expand operations, through the establishment of the ‘Offaly Aviation Training Centre’, which will be an all inclusive amenity that will benefit the local area and will be an asset to the local community, local schools and educational institutions, local business, enterprises, whilst providing a broad range of transferable skills to various industries, and enhancing local tourism. The aim of the ‘Offaly Aviation Training Centre’ at Benfield Airfield, will be an environmentally sustainable purpose built building, which comprises an aircraft hangar, with the ability to create internal classrooms, and areas for providing theory and practical flight and aircraft maintenance training. It will be the first of its kind, focusing and actively promoting environmental sustainability, working towards reducing the carbon footprint associated with aviation.
