Description:
Tenders are sought for the supply, delivery, installation and commissioning of a Two-Dimensional High-Performance Liquid Chromatograph (2D-HPLC) with a Quadrupole-Time of-Flight – Bio Mass Spectrometer (Q-ToF-Bio MS) system or other similarly performing types of mass detectors for Shannon Applied Biotechnology Centre at Technological University of The Shannon - Midwest. The requested system must be “top of its class” with broad and very precise capabilities of detection and identification of both small molecules and large bio-polymers such as poly-nucleotides, proteins, poly-saccharides, lipo-proteins, etc. The Ultra-performance liquid chromatography with mass spectrometric detector is an essential instrument throughout Shannon ABC’s industrial engagement. It is the most relevant instrument for the study of complex biological and chemical samples such as 2D-UHPLC - MS/MS - Bio separates a complex biological mixture into its individual components. Post-separation of each of the compounds can be monitored and accurately identified by both UV-Vis and mass detectors in series. This function is utilised frequently by our industrial partners to identify bioactive compounds in cosmetics, food, beverages, nutritional supplements, biological extracts, and environmental samples. Another important function of this instrument is the quantification of individual active compounds and potential pollutants in a complex biological matrix. This is a frequent requirement for our industrial partners in order to licence and release their products to market. This testing is applied in following industries: food and beverage; biopharmaceuticals; cosmetics; chemical production; biomedical devices; green energy; and farming. The system sought is the instrument of choice of the FSA, EPA, and NAIB laboratories, as well as the State and Forensic laboratories and, thus, is essential for our industrial partners to pre-test for licencing and market applications. The system must consist of the following modules: • MS/MS Detector • DAD/PDA Detector • 2D- LC that can operate as 2D and a stand-alone UHPLC • A specialised software for detection and Identification of both small molecules and bio-polymers. Considering the complexity of the requested specifications and the cost-saving, we will accept an ex-demo model of one, or some of the Instruments’ parts on a condition these parts are not older than 2 years, not near the system’s out-of-guaranteed service date and fully factory-refurbished and qualified.
