- Project Scope: • Decommissioning: The project entails the removal of the existing boiler house, LPHW (low-pressure hot water) heating system, hot water system, and air conditioning systems in designated areas, as specified in the drawings. • • New Installations: o Heating and Hot Water: The project involves installing a new air-to-air heat pump system with external condensers, internal water pipework, and air handling units. Additionally, new undersink electric water heaters and electric radiators will be installed throughout the affected areas. o Sanitary Ware: New sanitary ware, including washbasins and taps, will be installed as detailed in the drawings. o Electrical: Upgraded electrical services will be implemented to support the new heat pumps, water heaters, radiators, and lighting in the corridor areas. This includes the reinstatement of existing emergency lighting and fire alarm systems within new grid ceilings. o Building Works: The project also encompasses the installation of new grid ceilings, painting of affected areas, and the installation of IPS panels. Project Requirements and Responsibilities: Compliance: The project must adhere to various building regulations, Irish Standards, British Standards, CIBSE (Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers) guidelines, and good engineering practices. • Timeline and Access: The project will be completed in phases agreed upon with the client, potentially including out-of-hours work to minimize disruption to hospital operations. A site visit by the contractor before tender submission is mandatory. • Contractor Role: The mechanical contractor, acting as the main contractor, will also assume the roles of Project Supervisor Construction Stage (PSCS) and COVID-19 Compliance Officer for the project. They are responsible for ensuring all works comply with relevant regulations and are completed within the agreed timeframe, while prioritizing safety and minimizing disruption to the hospital's operations.
