Description:
The Health and Safety Authority has identified the need to develop an accredited Leadership Development programme for staff at the grades of Grade I Inspector / Assessor and Assistant Principal (AP). The programme will be required to provide these grades with the interpersonal and professional skills and competencies required to carry out their roles within the organisation. The Authority intends to establish a multi-party framework with initial contract. This will require the initial Leadership Development programme delivered on 2 occasions, which will be a blend of active classroom learning, subject expert guest speakers, role-playing, e-learning support, case studies, and action learning workshops to ensure that the participants have the opportunity to put the theory into practice. The Authority will require the delivery of an Accredited Leadership Development programme delivered on two occasions with up to a maximum of 18 participants on each programme. The Accreditation should be at a minimum of NFQ Level 6. Higher levels would be welcome where practical within the constraints of the specification. It is envisaged that each programme will be delivered over 12 days (subject to proposals) within a 6-month timeframe in modular clusters, as outlined below. The programme will be a blend of active classroom learning, subject expert guest speakers, role-playing, e-learning support, case studies, and action learning workshops to ensure that the participants have the opportunity to put the theory into practice. The classroom-based learning will make use of case studies, chosen to reflect the current challenges facing the Public and Civil Service. This approach should prompt discussion and promote a collaborative learning environment.
