Description:
The Office of Public Works (OPW) are in the process of refurbishing the Record Tower at Dublin Castle, due to be opened to the public in 2024. Dublin Castle is a site of national historic importance in Ireland. Occupying the site of a Viking fortress, the stone castle was erected from 1204 and comprised a gatehouse and four large, round corner towers linked together by a curtain wall, within which a variety of buildings and functions were accommodated. Most of this medieval castle was replaced in the century following a fire in 1684 and the most conspicuous vestige that survives in the Record Tower. The Record Tower served a variety of purposes over the centuries, reflected in the various names it was given: Gunner’s Tower, Wardrobe Tower, Gaol Tower and Record Tower. In 2017, the OPW partnered with Fáilte Ireland to redevelop this ancient structure with a view to allowing visitors to access the space. This redevelopment consists of a new staircase, a rooftop walkway and exhibits of original objects associated with its history. These, together with a supportive programme of AV content, will allow the OPW to interpret this structure and its exciting stories to the general public for decades to come. Bright 3D Environments Ltd (Bright) were appointed by OPW as the Exhibition Design Company for the project. With Bright acting as lead liaison for the project, OPW now seek to commission an experienced AV content producer to develop high quality digital animations and audio which can be used within the exhibition displays. The full list of requirements is available in the Contract Documents tab. Tenderers must associate themselves with this competition in order to access tender documents, ask and receive clarifications and submit a tender response. Responses must be made submitted in a zip-file format
