- The Department of Education wishes to procure the services of a higher education institution to design, develop and deliver an upskilling programme of study in the post-primary curricular subject of Irish. The development of upskilling programmes supports the commitment of the Department to providing opportunities for teacher professional learning across the continuum of teacher education, particularly in the context of the Teaching Council’s work with Cosán, the national framework for teachers’ learning. Building on the success of the existing upskilling programmes in mathematics, Spanish and physics, proposals are now invited for the provision of a flexible upskilling programme in Irish. The upskilling programme must enable teachers to meet the post primary Curricular Subject Requirements of the Teaching Council to register to teach Irish.
