- The project is in the townland of Gortnacorkoge near the Village of Killargue and 5km South of Manorhamilton. The R280 is a very narrow along this section of road making it very hard for lorries to pass when they meet. Also, there is no verge present at all along the western side of the road and there have been 2 incidents over the past 18 months where 2 lorries have come off the road, both incidents just 75m apart. The project is to widen the verge/embankment, pavement and install a vehicle restraint system as well as cut back the embankment on the eastern side of the road
